Are space and time the same thing in the Wolfram model?
Not identical, but they come from the same raw material. The model proposes that space is the large-scale shape of the hypergraph (how nodes are connected), while time is the ordering of update events forced by the causal graph — the sequence in which rewrites had to happen. [setup] So both emerge from one underlying rewriting process rather than being a fixed background, and the relativity of simultaneity then blurs the line between them much as in ordinary relativity. This is the project's modelling proposal, not established physics.
